Walisa Villarreal Biography

In the Defense Human Resources Activity (DHRA), a Department of Defense (DoD) Field Activity of the Under Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness) based in Alexandria, Virginia, Chief Master Sergeant Walisa Villarreal serves as the Director’s Senior Enlisted Advisor.

She advises the Director and senior staff in this capacity on matters pertaining to the Active and Reserve Component in order to advance and support the goals of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program, the Transition Assistance Program, the Federal Voting Assistance Program, and the Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program.

At Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, Chief Villarreal completed Air Force Basic Military Training before enlisting in the Air Force in April 1997. As a Greek Cryptolinguist, Information Management Craftsman, and Personnelist, she has held a variety of positions. Her assignment to the 189th Airlift Wing at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas, followed her completion of Personnel Specialist training at Keesler AFB, Mississippi. She was a customer care agent for the Commander Support Staff for the Wing and the Military Personnel Flight.

Chief Villarreal has worked as the Installation Personnel Readiness Section Chief and a Wing Career Assistance Advisor during his time as an Air Force Reserve Technician.

She deployed to Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, in 2012, and was given the position of Casualty Assistance Representative on the Personnel Support for Contingency Operations team.

She previously served as the Superintendent of Headquarters Readiness and Integration, Detachment 6 at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida. She has a wealth of expertise working with people and has held a variety of Air Force positions, including Air Force, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve.
