Major General Christopher R. Norrie’s Biography

The director of the People First Task Force, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1, United States Army, Pentagon, Washington, DC, is Major General Christopher R. Norrie. The two stars were awarded to MG Norrie in August of this year (2022). Prior to that, he served as the 7th Army Training Command’s commanding general at Grafenwoehr, Germany.

On Friday, October 14th at 1:30 pm in UMC room 247, General Norrie kindly offered to address our ROTC cadets. He arrived in town to spend “Parent’s Weekend” with his daughter, who is a student at CU.

Distinguished Military Graduate of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania’s Bucknell University, General Norrie also holds two master’s degrees from Embry-Riddle University in business administration and the National War College in national security strategy.

General Norrie discussed his military experience and how he came to hold the role he does now. Additionally, he discussed his time as a Second Lieutenant at the start of his Army service.

He discussed with the kids some of his early accomplishments and disappointments when he was first learning and taking on leadership roles. He imparted some of his expertise to the ROTC cadets in an effort to assist them on their journey toward becoming Army leaders.
