Brigadier General Jeffrey A. VanAntwerp Biography
A senior member of the American Army is Brigadier General Jeffrey A. VanAntwerp. He is now serving at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida as the deputy chief of staff for operations, J3, United States Army Central Command.
The year 1972 saw Van Antwerp’s birth in Fort Lewis, Washington. He earned a civil engineering degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1994. He received his commission in the infantry as a second lieutenant.
Early responsibilities for VanAntwerp in the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment were platoon commander and troop executive officer. After thereafter, he led companies in the 4th Infantry Division and worked as a brigade planner, notably during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
VanAntwerp attended Command and General Staff College after holding staff and faculty positions at the United States Military Academy. Later, he worked for the 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division as a squadron and brigade executive officer. During Operation New Dawn in Iraq, he served as the III Corps commander’s aide-de-camp.
Later positions held by VanAntwerp included those of commanding general of the 25th Infantry Division’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team and deputy commanding general for operations. The United States Army Pacific’s J3’s deputy chief of staff for operations was then given to him.
In 2022, VanAntwerp received a brigadier general promotion. He holds degrees from the Joint Forces Staff College and the Army War College. Along with these awards, he also has the Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, and the Bronze Star Medal with three oak leaf clusters.
Two kids and a married man make up VanAntwerp’s family.
